Critiquing Photography Challenge

Descriptive: This photo of a lucky charms box from Jason Liebig is descriptive as its purpose is to show what the cereal looks like and provide a list of the contents/ingredients.

Explanatory: My photo is explanatory as it demonstrates how proper camouflage and use of surroundings can help even a slow creature, like this sloth, stay safe from predators.

Interpretive: This photo taken by Rick Hulbert is interpretive as it doesn't paint a full picture of the surroundings. The view is left to interpret the photo and develop their own understanding of what is happening.

Aesthetically Evaluative: My photo is aesthetically evaluative as it allows the jellyfish to stand out in stark contrast to the vibrant blue background. They grab and hold your attention right away and allow you to notice more detail of the jelly's bodies.

Ethically Evaluative: My photo is ethically evaluative as it shows a nurse shark laying against the bleak emptiness of the aquarium exhibit and makes you question if it is ethical to keep animals in surrounds that differ so greatly from their natural habitats.

Theoretical: This is a photo of a conceptual art piece by comedian Maurizio Cattelan. This image is theoretical as it creates a commentary on what truly qualifies as art, and what gives an art piece value?
